This is my first post on an Aston-Martin car, I am baffled that I have not done one yet, given that this brand is one of the greatest in the world, besides it is my personal favorite as well. I fell in love with this marque following the use of an exquisite DB5 by the world's favorite spook James Bond and his exploits in the effervescent 1964 thriller Goldfinger. The cars came into prominence and started getting associated as a luxury brand from then on and it has not relinquished this position despite a few missteps in its 101 years long chequered history. Aston Martin Lagonda Limited is a British manufacturer of luxury sports cars and GT's. It was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford.
The car in question here is the Aston Martin One 77 Super Car. Compared to the Vanquish and Vantage it is an idiotic name, and frankly the car deserves better because it is the most powerful and most expensive Aston Martin of all time and it is even more amazing when you discover that this car weighs less than Aston Martin's very own V8 Vantage.
The One-77 features a full carbon fiber monocoque chassis, a handcrafted aluminium body, and a naturally aspirated 7,312 cc V12 engine with 750 hp. Aston Martin claims that this is the most powerful naturally aspirated production engine in the world. The engine features 48-valves and the camshaft is made of alloy, it is Front mid-mounted with rear wheel drive. The car has a fully catalyzed stainless steel lightweight sports exhaust system with active bypass valves. The car uses a strengthened version of the DB9's 6-speed automated manual transmission and height-adjustable push rod suspension coupled with dynamic stability control. The top speed is a thumping 220.007 mph (354.067 km/h), with a 0–60 mph sprint of approximately 3.5 seconds.
Aston Martin One-77's interior is where you find genuine British luxury, accentuated by several decades of the finest craftsmanship and quality, the seats are hand-stitched and the controls of the center console is stylish and simple in its functionality.
Harry Metcalfe of Autoexpress UK sums up the One-77 very succinctly "It’s a beautiful, vicious, hi-tech Super Car you never want to stop driving".
