The Zender brand of Germany is practically fallen into oblivion. But during the 70's and 80's Hans-Albert Zender was a major player in the world of tuning, his company then ventured out to make its own Super Cars first starting with a prototype Vision 1S then followed it with Vision 2, Vision 3C and then finally Vision 3 as the production variant.

The first Zender Vision 1S was a prototype and was just a show car. Launched in 1983, it was based on a Audi Quattro platform. Two years later, Vision 2 was launched with a mid-engined configuration. The Vision 3 which are pictured here was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1987. It is a mid-engined two seater Coupé Super Car weighing a commendable 1,350 kg (2,976 lbs), the car was sold from 1988. It was powered by a naturally aspirated 5,547 cc Mercedes-Benz V8 petrol engine with an output of 300 hp at 5,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 454.0 Nm (334 lb.ft) at 5000 rpm.. It had a 5-speed manual transmission. The Vision 3 was capable for sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and could reach a top speed or around 282 km/h (175 mph). Very impressive, mind you we are talking of a car when the Ferrari F40 was ruling the roost. The suspension consisted of Coil Springs both in the front and at the rear.
His styling is as per its period, beautifully stretched, cut to a sickle had great fluidity and had a charm of its own the build quality was also exceptional. Overall, a good product from Germany, though they are not great Super Car makers like the Italians or the Britishers.
