If you have not heard about the
Isdera Imperator 108i Coupé one of the rarest Super Cars of modern times, then you are excused, because the it is one such beautiful creature. Isdera was one such obscure German engineering and sports car specialist firm located at Leonberg, owned by Eberhard Schulz who worked closely with Mercedes-Benz as a design engineer. His company with ample support from Mercedes developed a mid-engined Super Car study called
Mercedes F-CW-311 in 1978. Mercedes-Benz later allowed Schulz to produce the vehicle in 1984 under his own brand Isdera, but with the Mercedes star badge on the front grille however, it was later replaced with Isdera flying eagle badge. A
total of 30 examples were produced between 1984 to 1993. Amazingly the company thought to have wound up in 1993, still
exists.
