The Hennessey Venom GT

Hennessey Venom GT

DESIGN

The Hennessey Venom GT was designed to offer a staggering level of performance and a driving experience that’s simply unmatched by any other road car. Maximum usable power combined with a curb weight of just 1,244 kilograms delivers the quickest and fastest production Super Car in the world. In January 2013, the Venom GT set the Guinness World Record as the world’s fastest Super Car from 0-300 km/h (200 mph). During the same test, it also set a world record for quickest 0-200 mph run (321 Km/h), hitting the double century mark in just 14.51 seconds, nearly 7 seconds quicker than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. And most recently, on a 3.22-mile runway at the Kennedy space Center, the Venom GT reached 270.49 mph, setting a new world speed record for 2-Seat production Super Cars and adding absolute top speed to its already impressive list of achievements. Only 29 Venom GTs will be produced. Its limited production makes it a special car not only the world’s quickest and fastest Super Car, but also one of the most exclusive as well.

FEATURES & PERFORMANCE

Inside, the Venom GT melds high-tech materials with supple handcrafted luxury. Machined metal meets carbon fiber, surrounded by sumptuous leather and Alcantara, to produce an unforgettable cockpit. Hold on tight to the sport steering wheel, as the Venom GT is capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds. Massive thrust combined with an ultra-light curb weight of just 2743 lb (1244 kg) endows the Venom GT with an unmatched power-to-weight ratio. The Venom GT is a purpose-built thrill ride designed to dominate the competition. This car is for a very select client who demands ultimate performance, but with absolute exclusivity. F1 meets road car. To maximize the power-to-weight ratio, the Venom GT utilizes some of the most high-tech racing components available today. This includes the use of carbon fiber body panels and lightweight forged aluminum mono block wheels. Massive Brembo 6-piston alloy brake calipers combine with lightweight carbon-ceramic rotors to give the Venom GT world class stopping power while simultaneously minimizing unsprung weight and rotational mass. The Venom GT has an active suspension system that adjusts ride height according to varying conditions. With an adjustment range of 2.4 in. (6 cm), the system enables the driver to raise the vehicle, helping to navigate steep driveways or especially tall speed bumps. The Venom GT’s components and systems are built for purpose, not flash. A lightweight carbon fiber console surrounds an alloy shifter that actuates a Ricardo 6-speed manual gearbox. With lateral acceleration at well over 1.0 g, support for the occupants comes in the form of race-spec, deeply bolstered bucket seats constructed of carbon fiber, covered in leather, and sewn with contrasting stitching.

POWER PLANT

Powering the Venom GT is a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. The power plant features dry sump lubrication, and produces an amazing 1244 bhp and 1155 lb-ft of torque. The Venom GT is able to put all of its power to the ground with an adjustable traction control system. It simply redefines Super Car performance, as the Venom GT accelerates from zero to 200 mph in under 15 seconds -nearly 9 seconds quicker than the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. (Text: Adapted From Venomgt.Com)
