JOSS Developments Limited developed the Joss JP1 which is Australia's first Super Car.The first test vehicle, known as the JT1, was designed, engineered and subsequently launched in 2004. It was shown to the public at the Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney Motor Shows to critical acclaim, and established the company as a serious Super Car contender. The prototype vehicles achieved outstanding performance accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and a quarter mile time of 11.7 seconds at 210 km/h and can achieve a top speed of 340+ km/h. Sounds like a true blue Super Car right?
Following customer feedback, additional external investment and other technological developments, the company embarked upon their mid-engined production version, internally code-named the JOSS JP1.

The emphasis the designers laid on was more on aerodynamics rather than aesthetics which leads the car too look rather bland if anything. However, under the hood the JOSS JP1 is stellar with a mid-mounted 6.8 liter V8 all aluminium DOHC fuel injected motor generating 476 hp and 572 nm with 5 speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels. The production version will have enhanced performance parameters with a larger engine having a 6 speed manual gearbox developing power at around the 500 hp mark.
As per the latest Press release by JOSS Developments Limited as on 21-Aug-2014, JOSS is reigniting the project with an investor relations program to produce the world class JP1 Super Car.
