The T-98 Kombat is a wheeled armored vehicle built by Kombat Armouring, a subsidiary of Laura Group, in St. Petersburg, Russia. The Kombat is one of the fastest armored off-road vehicles in the world with a top speed of 180 km/h. There are two basic versions of the T-98 Kombat based on General Motors components, including an 8.1 L Vortec engine, Allison transmission, and GM heavy duty suspension. The armored body is based on a "metal-ceramic sandwich with cellular filler" technology. The monocoque body provides protection against mine blasts.

Its all-metal body is created with the highest quality steel and provides maximum strength parameters of the body and car design in general.Armoring options: from B2 to highest -B7. Vehicle's platform is created using components from USA manufacturer General Motors for GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado 2500 (3500) — full-size pickup trucks.
Kombat is all-road vehicle with the unique protection capabilities from level B2 to the highest level - B7, also available STANAG NATO protection level 3/4, it includes protection from 12,7 mm bullet(heavy machineguns), this level of protection not available to any armoring passenger vehicles and using for light tank.
There are two base versions of the Kombat T-98.
- For the custom market it is Kombat T-98, “VIP”. It is based on GM components, including 8.1l 400HP or 6.0L Vortec engine, Allison 6 speed automatic transmission and GM HD suspensions from light 4X4 Track. The vehicles can be with no frame for heavy armoring or on the frame based for light version. Suspensions are mounted directly to full welded double steel body. All the “VIP” Kombats have full options including ABS, airbags, auto climate control, message- information center, full electric options, high quality leather and wood interior.
- “Utility” Kombat has different interiors, diesel engine, there are gun ports on the roof and it also has stronger suspension setup, the vehicle is designed primarily for special operations. The engine is 365 hp diesel with 6-speed ZF manual or automatic transmission.
The armored body uses hi-quality Germany bulletproof steel and a double body with highest protection level using a composite armor of ceramic between steel layers. VIP Combats have many options, including natural leather and wood interior. This technology allows obtaining high-level protection in comparison with modern civil armored cars and can withstand shots of a shotgun with armor-piercing bullet. The vehicle has protection against mine blasts and has considerable impact absorbing capabilities. There are two options of the vehicle — 5 seater hard top and 5 to 7 seater station wagon.
