The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG [Final Edition] is a front-engine, 2-seater luxury grand tourer automobile developed by Mercedes-AMG of German automaker Mercedes-Benz and is the first Mercedes-Benz automobile designed in-house by AMG. Universally hailed as one of the best cars in history, the SLS, has gull-wing doors and is described by Mercedes-Benz as a spiritual successor to the Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing. SLS stands for "Sport Leicht Super" (Sport Light Super). Mercedes presented an electric version of the car at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, named Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive.

Sixty years ago Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing by German Automaker was presented at the New York Motor Sports Show in February 1954. Even after 6 decades the 300 SL remains one of the most beautiful cars of all time. It was also a scorcher of a performer, its 300-Series engines was revolutionary mainly because the engineers at MB slated the engine by 50 degrees to the left thus improving the car's center of gravity and eventually its performance. The engine has an output of 215 hp, very significant at that time which was good enough to sprint from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 8 seconds and had a top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h). They also developed a steel tubing as its frame which weighed just 100 pounds (45 kg).

Mercedes-AMG GmbH, commonly known as AMG, is the high performance division of Mercedes-Benz. AMG models typically have more aggressive looks, a higher level of performance, better handling, better stability and more extensive use of carbon fiber than their regular Mercedes counterparts. The vehicle was unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show and sales began in mid-2010 in Europe. and in the United States in mid-2011.

INTERIOR

The interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT also boasts a fascinatingly exclusive look and feel, with the finest materials and outstanding workmanship combining to conjure up a setting that simply exudes class. The uncompromising lines of the interior components and their authentic materials exude a clarity that uses contrasting effects to help define the concept of "modern luxury".

A dominant aspect in the cockpit of the GT is the further stylistic development of the central "aviation design" theme which is typical of Mercedes-Benz sports cars. The dashboard places an extreme emphasis on width, creating an impression of a powerful wing. This effect is supported by the four central spotlight-style vents and the individual vents at the left and right ends of the dashboard. The dominant center console presents a correspondingly dynamic character: its shaping reminiscent of a NACA air intake and the employed materials suggest that it has been adopted directly from motor racing. Another clever design feature comes in the form of the controls on the AMG DRIVE UNIT, which are arranged like eight cylinders in a V layout, further bolstering the powerful and high-tech impression made by the center console.
